Lula L. Axson and Evelyn L. Johnson Education Scholarship

The Lula L. Axson and Evelyn L. Johnson Education Scholarship is awarded to students matriculating in a two or four college/university in Massachusetts who have declared their major in any discipline in education. Scholarships are to be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, and room and board at an accredited college or university in Massachusetts. The scholarship may provide a $1,000 non-renewable award for students who are pursuing school full-time from accredited vocational/technical school, community college, or college/university to pursue a certificate, diploma, or degree in any discipline in education. Scholarships will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, room and board, and other college expenses.

CRITERIA:

  • To receive consideration, applicants must:
  • be of African-American or Hispanic/Latinx descent
  • declared major in any discipline of education
  • have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0
  • demonstrate examples of community and school service
  • demonstrate financial need, but not restricted to lower incomes (student’s financial need and merit will be equally weighted)

Spring 2024 OEZ Academic Scholarship Application

The Omega Eta Zeta Academic Scholarship was established in May 2022 to present an exceptional opportunity for graduating high school students who reside in Southeastern Massachusetts to pursue their academic goals. With (2) awards available, each valued at $1,000, this scholarship seeks to celebrate and support outstanding academic achievements and community service. By investing in the educational pursuits of deserving students, the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Omega Eta Zeta aims to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders in Southeastern Massachusetts.
